Olly Mux
“The man’s voice strikes me as a dark-velvet potpourri of all the right influences, seamlessly blended with a liberal dash of his own native individuality and sparkle. ”
About
Olly Mux is a jazz pianist and vocalist characterised by a warm bass voice reminiscent of Johnny Hartman and a refined, melodic playing style.
A prominent figure in London’s jazz scene, he is currently a resident musician at The Savoy’s American Bar and the Four Seasons, as well as a regular performer at Oliver’s Jazz Bar in Greenwich. His performances draw heavily from the Great American Songbook, with a repertoire inspired by the elegance of Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra.
Parallel to his jazz career, performing as Oliver Muxworthy, he is an accomplished composer of concert works and production music. A graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire, he studied under John Ashton Thomas and Errollyn Wallen. His compositional output ranges from intimate chamber works to full orchestral scores, with premieres by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Welsh Proms and performances at Wigmore Hall.
