Gwenllian Llŷr
“As a harpist myself, I’m often drawn to how the instrument can transform a moment—and this musician went above and beyond that expectation... Her performance wasn’t just beautiful—it was deeply moving. The piece she played was so exquisitely delivered that it felt like time slowed down.”

Projects
Solo Recitals & Narrative Programmes
Gwenllian maintains a busy international solo recital diary, providing compelling, curated concert programmes for arts festivals, concert societies, and contemporary classical series. Known for her unique ability to connect with audiences, her recitals are designed around narrative concepts rather than a simple string of pieces. Her signature performance setups include deep-dive explorations into the relationships and hidden histories of classical composers , immersive theatrical-style sets exploring traditional folk and dance forms , and deeply personal, travel-inspired solo programmes featuring traditional Welsh music alongside European impressionism and her own original work.
Orchestral Concertos & Choral Collaborations
An experienced and dynamic concerto soloist, Gwenllian performs regularly alongside leading orchestras and chamber choirs across the UK and internationally. Her concerto repertoire spans centuries of literature, moving effortlessly from the elegant, classical lines of Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto to the highly complex, percussive rhythmic demands of Alberto Ginastera’s Harp Concerto. Her ability to blend seamlessly with vocal textures makes her a premier choice for major choral societies looking to feature the harp in large-scale classical Masterworks and contemporary commissions.
Chamber Music & The Aliara Duo
A passionate chamber musician and a champion of innovative ensemble configurations, Gwenllian is available for unique chamber music bookings, collaborations, and cross-disciplinary arts projects. Her work in this space includes performing alongside elite new-music collectives like the Riot Ensemble and developing multidisciplinary staging that pairs solo harp with modern dance and choreography. She also tours and performs as part of the Aliara Duo, an intimate, highly versatile collaborative project designed specifically for chamber music societies, corporate galas, and high-end private events.
Bespoke Commissions, Arrangements & Workshops
Beyond her performance career, Gwenllian is a prolific composer and arranger who has dedicated over a decade to expanding the modern harp repertoire. She specializes in writing new literature that showcases the complete versatility and extended acoustic techniques of the instrument, regularly delivering world premieres for contemporary ensembles and vocal soloists. Backed by her deep technical expertise, she offers bespoke composition commissions, custom arrangements of traditional material, and specialised workshops designed for both performers and composers looking to write effectively for the harp.
