Artie Zaitz is widely recognised as one of the most exciting, technically authoritative, and deeply grooving guitarists on the contemporary UK jazz scene. A veteran of the London and international jazz circuits for over a decade, he is a rare dual-threat musician: an elite jazz guitarist with a profound blues sensibility, and a specialised Hammond organ aficionado who frequently performs and records on his vintage 1961 Hammond C-3 organ (affectionately named "Big Bertha").

Born into a prominent musical family—his father being the internationally renowned blues guitarist and producer Jake Zaitz—Artie was immersed in the historic Blue Note catalog from early childhood. He went on to formalise his training by studying jazz guitar at Trinity College of Music. Since graduating, Zaitz has become a premier collaborator and first-call session artist for the generation-defining pioneers of the UK jazz explosion. His extensive recording and touring credits include high-profile work alongside Moses Boyd, Theon Cross, Jordan Rakei, Camilla George, Maisha, Jo Harrop, and Tom Waters’ Electric People.

Zaitz’s distinct command of style, heavy pocket, and trademark onstage wit have earned him some of the most visible residencies in British jazz. He has been the host of the legendary Late Late Show at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club on Friday and Saturday nights, anchoring London’s premier weekend after-hours blowing sessions. In late 2024, Zaitz solidified his status as a frontliner with the release of his much-anticipated debut album as a leader, The Regulator (Banger Factory Records). Recorded entirely in full analogue glory live in the studio, the album captured widespread critical acclaim for its raw, gritty homage to the mid-1960s New York "Chitlin Circuit" organ trios, uniquely spiced with Afro-Cuban and Latin percussion.
