Amy Turk

About

Amy Turk is an internationally acclaimed multi-genre harpist, composer, arranger, and session artist whose pioneering approach to her instrument has redefined the boundaries of modern harp performance.

Classically trained from an early age, Amy holds a Master of Arts from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under the celebrated tutelage of Karen Vaughan. Her historic debut as an arranger occurred at just fifteen years old, when her first pop arrangement for harp ensemble received its world premiere at the Royal Albert Hall. Today, Amy has built a massive global audience; her innovative performances have amassed over 34 million views digitally, with her landmark rendition of J.S. Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor receiving widespread broadcast play on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, as well as being featured in the Oscar-nominated feature film Triangle of Sadness.

Central to Amy’s artistic identity is her fascination with acoustic percussion. Drawing structural inspiration from progressive acoustic guitar pioneers, she has engineered a sophisticated, bespoke percussive system for the harp. By utilising the instrument's frame to execute complex dampening, tapping, and drumming techniques alongside traditional strings, she is able to seamlessly replicate the sonic weight and rhythmic driving force of a full band on a single acoustic harp.

Solo Recitals & Narrative Programmes

Amy maintains a busy solo diary, delivering compelling concert programmes that weave together classical masterworks, virtuosic pop and rock transcriptions, and her own celebrated original compositions, such as those featured on her landmark EP Syzygy. Characterised by insightful spoken introductions and a deeply communicative stage presence, her recitals strip away the traditional, static clichés of the classical harp. She introduces audiences to extended percussive techniques through a narrative arc that explores the instrument’s full emotional, dynamic, and rhythmic spectrum, making her an exceptional booking for forward-thinking concert societies and international arts festivals.

Cinematic & Video Game Adaptations

A specialist in the rich soundscapes of media music, Amy is highly regarded for her definitive solo arrangements of iconic film, television, and video game scores. From dense, complex themes to minimalist ambient suites, her transcriptions recontextualise orchestral and digital music specifically for the acoustic harp. These custom-curated sets are designed for contemporary venues, multidisciplinary arts spaces, and cross-media festival programming looking for a highly distinct, visually arresting instrumental attraction.

Studio Tracking, Arranging & Orchestral Sessions

Amy is a prolific session musician and arranger, operating fluidly across genres ranging from neoclassical and cinematic orchestration to symphonic rock and heavy metal. Backed by a high-fidelity, professional remote-tracking studio, she provides complete end-to-end production services including bespoke transcription, part-writing, and pristine multi-track audio stem delivery. Her exceptional rhythmic precision, sight-reading capabilities, and experience with music technology make her a premium asset for both remote tracking commissions and live orchestral recording sessions.
